OpenFlow Data Plane Abstraction (OF-DPA) API Guide and Reference Manual: Goals

The goal of this traffic engineering use case is to demonstrate the following:

OpenFlow to balance paths for long lived "elephant" flows to avoid congestion.
Combines measurement and control to place specific flows (e.g., elephants).
Implementation using OpenFlow 1.3 multiple tables and groups.
Group entries enable using ECMP hashing in switch.
